A Peek Inside RTC NA 2016 By Jason Boehning While RTC is packed with great events and seminars, it is the amazing community that makes it so special. that drive our economies operate. Essentially, Ashraf was asking everyone to maintain the proper perspective on our jobs. Sometimes we don’t think our job is as important as it really is. The Keynote Sets the Stage RTC North America 2016… Where to begin? I think the one thing that stood out to those of us who attended this year, even more so than previous years, was the keynote speaker. Sure, there have been great keynote speakers in the past at RTC. But this year, Ashraf Habibullah delivered a keynote that was unlike any other. From his light-up jacket, to his clever remarks on the AEC industry, Ashraf had everyone laughing almost continuously. But this was not just comedy hour—his words were full of both inspiration and appreciation. 16 Ashraf encouraged everyone to take pride in what they do on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes it is easy to get bogged down in the details and routine. He reminded everyone that the buildings we design are the places where the businesses www.cadlearning.com While Ashraf delivered an incredible keynote, the mark he left on the week did not end there. He rented out a local bar for all the attendees. On Thursday night, most of us went off-site to hang out with Ashraf. With another light-up jacket on, he proceeded to take pictures and interact with as many of us as possible. And it still didn’t end there. Towards the end of the night, he joined the band to sing Katy Perry songs, along with the few lucky attendees whose raffle tickets were drawn. These karaoke singers received an iPad from Ashraf for singing with him. Ashraf Habibullah definitely made an impact on RTC NA 2016! Other than that, it was your typical RTC, full of cutting-edge technology and innovative workflows, along with the pleasure of being able to network with design professionals from all around the world. You know… nothing out of the ordinary for RTC!
