From The Director’s Desk Content Season In Review by Matt Murphy As we close out another year of content development, I always like to refl ect back on our accomplishments and what we can do better for next year. We continue to strive for more atomized content in which each atom of knowledge or skill within an Autodesk application can stand on its own. Having content at this level makes reordering, resequencing and deploying custom packages for specifi c workfl ows and needs. Where do we go from here? Consumption – As we move away from traditional models of courses and books to more agile ways that you, as consumers, want to ingest our content to become more productive, we will continue to consider how to incorporate the NetFlix and Spotify model: serving up only the content you need or want or are interested in. Personalization – Shorter lessons, custom playlists based on personal needs and ways to add more content that is specifi c to your needs. Developing systems that are smart enough to know what products you use but also smart enough to know what you don’t know and present relevant content. This is the Amazon model and we will continue to push smarter systems. 360 Products – As Autodesk moves more toward cloud-based products and subscription-based deployment we will also need to move toward rapid deployment of new lessons and topics. Having systems that can surface “what’s new” or “what’s changed” as a playlist will make content easier to consume. Every year we are posed new challenges, and with those challenges come new opportunities. We are up to those challenges and we look forward to driving them forward to improve your personal and professional productivity with Autodesk products. 4 www.cadlearning.com
